1st Tim 3: 2-4 Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive.
Prayer
Dear Lord, I thank you for providing me with a man after your own heart, who seeks first your kingdom. Help me to look for the right qualities in the man I choose, and teach me patience to wait prayerfully as you work in him to become more like Christ. I thank you because he is fearfully and wonderfully made and I will see you in him.
I commit my future mate to you, Lord, and ask you give him a strong desire to serve you. I ask that you will be his ever-present help whenever he is in need, and he will be always be aware of your presence. I pray that you will draw closer to him, even as he draws close to you. I declare he will possess a sound mind and will lean not on his own understanding. I declare he will learn to depend solely on you for every decision he makes about our life and future.
I decree that he will have a strong sense of your purpose for his life. You will increasingly reveal your vision to him and make it plain, so he can walk in it. I pray that he will be a man who obeys your word and you will give him a clean and open heart. I pray that the Holy Spirit will work in him daily to mould his character to a man who loves you, and consciously makes it his priority to do your will and to please you. I decree he will possess a sound mind and he will think like you. I pray that you give him the desire to study, meditate and speak your word over our life and future.
I ask that you renew his strength in every area where he is weak, and show him revelation in your word that will deliver him from anything that can affect his calling or destiny. I speak life into every area that is desolate, and light unto every darkness in his life. Deliver him from any stronghold and sin that easily entraps him and give him the strength to persevere and stand strong.
I declare my husband will be a man of strong faith, and will walk according to his faith. I declare he will be of good character, a leader, a man of integrity, self controlled, patient, temperate, loving and kind. He will walk according to the fruits of the spirit, possess a spirit of excellence and manage his affairs well. He will be an encourager and father who leaves a strong and good heritage for our children and a solid example unto others. I pray that all the works of his hands will be fruitful and he will prosper abundantly in all he does. I pray for uncommon favour on his life, and that the blessings of God which makes rich and add no sorrow will be his portion.
I pray that you give me the strength to uphold him daily in prayer. I declare also that our relationship will be fully formed in you as the solid rock and foundation.
